Statement of Faith

  • In essential beliefs we have unity. (Eph 4:4-6)
  • In non-essential beliefs we have liberty. (Rom 14:1,4,12,22)
  • In all our beliefs we walk in love. (1Cor 13:2)

We consider certain truths to be fundamental to an understanding of our relationship to the one true and living God.

The One True God:  The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent I AM, the Creator of the Universe, and the Redeemer of mankind (Deut. 6:4, Ex. 3:14; and Isa 43:10 & 11).  God has further revealed Himself as a being, manifested as Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Isa. 48:16; Matt 28:19; and Luke 3:22).

The Scriptures Inspired:  All Scripture, both Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired of God and are the inerrant revelation of God to man, the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct (2 Tim 3:15-17; 1 Thess 2:13 and 1 Pet 1:21)

The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ:  The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, and as such, shares in the Divinity and Deity of God (Matt 1:23; John 5:22, 2 John 3; and Heb 1:13).  Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, was conceived of the Holy Spirit.  We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings, His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into Heaven, perpetual intercession for His people and personal visible return to earth. (Is 9:6, John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Heb 4;14,15; 1 Cor 15:3-4; Rom 1:3,4; Acts 1:9-11, 1 Tim 6:14,15, Titus 2:13)

Original Sin and the Fall of Man:  Man was created good and upright for God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…” (Gen 1:26-27).  The first man, Adam, through disobedience, fell from the grace of God and thus, sin entered into the world and death by sin.  Adam’s transgression incurred not only physical death for man, but also spiritual death which is eternal separation from God (Gen 2:1-17 and 3:4-6). Man’s propensity to sin, because of his sinful nature, necessitates salvation from the power of sin and a savior to provide that salvation (Rom 7:13-25).

The Salvation of Man:  Man’s only hope of redemption and salvation from the power of sin is through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12; Rom 5:8-13 & 10:9; and Eph 2:8)

The Present Ministry of the Holy Spirit:  We believe the Holy Spirit, who came forth from the Father and Son convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgement and regenerates, sanctifies and empowers for ministry all who believe in Christ.  The Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and He is an abiding Helper, Teacher and Guide.  We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the exercise of all the Biblical gifts of the Spirit. (2 Cor 3:17, John 16:7-13, 14:16,17; Acts 1:8; 1 Cor 2:12, 3:16; Eph 1:13; Gal 5:25 Eph 5:18)

The Church and It’s Mission:  The Church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Holy Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of His great commission.  Each believer, born of the Spirit is an integral part of the general assembly and the church. (Eph 1:22 and 23, 2:22 and Heb 12:23).
